Our Goal

NetherVolts aims to provide a transparent and interactive visualization of energy consumption across Amsterdam's neighborhoods. By aggregating data down to the postal code level, we empower residents and policymakers to identify consumption trends, high-demand areas, and opportunities for energy efficiency.

How It Works

Explore: Use the interactive map to hover over regions and see instant consumption categories (Green, Yellow, Red).

Analyze: Click on any region to open detailed statistics, including annual usage, total connections, and monthly consumption trends.

Compare: Select a second region to compare two neighborhoods side-by-side and visualize differences in energy efficiency.

Data Source

The data presented is based on real energy grid measurements collected for the year 2025 (`connections` and `total_consumption`). It includes electricity specific metrics provided by regional network operators.
Note: Some granular data points may be simulated for demonstration purposes where privacy restrictions apply.
